Many mystical texts as the famous poems of Solomon tend to celebrate love. Yet virtually all these writings sing only the beauty of heterosexual love. I realized that nowadays in our society while it is still possible for a man and a woman to find sources of inspiration to bring a little magic and divine spark into their emotional life that is much more difficult for a homosexual.

Yet virtually all these writings sing only the beauty of heterosexual love. I realized that nowadays in our society while it is still possible for a man and a woman to find sources of inspiration to bring a little magic and divine spark into their emotional life that is much more difficult for a homosexual. So I want to share with you my vision and mystical poetry about homosexual love. Even if this contribution is quite short I hope that it will inspire you. Two spirits dancing Everything starts with a sound, a murmur that rises like a song. Two drums beat the rhythm, two hearts respond to the pace of discovery lead by the exploration of the five senses. Two minds, two energies which are echoing each other. Candles shine in the distance, you can perceive some nervous laughter and see the stars in their eyes. Then just the sound of a movement back and forth resonates as the waves of the ocean. A hoarse cry and a sigh break the silence. The energy spirals towards the stars while the exhausted bodies lie motionless. This is the path of love between men. That is our truth: an old and deep love. We know the magic that exists in the union of a man and a woman: the magic to create and the power to merge the opposite as the Sun and the Moon or the Fire and the Water. This special music is music of the differences that come together. It is a music which speaks of reconciliation and of a gift and a sacrifice accepted on each side. For a woman gives her energy and agrees to receive the opposing masculine force in her. For the man donated his strength and agrees to accept the feminine gentleness in him. We all have within us the union of opposites, the dance of the day and night, but in the act between a man and a woman this difference is sublimated. So when our path, our heart leads us to desire a man, the question arises: what is our place? What is our song? What is our love? When two mirrors look at each other, eternity is reflected to infinity. And when in this game about reflections two men tend toward each other then the universe is dancing in a common fire of desire and brotherhood. If the love between a man and a woman is the union of opposites, the love between two men is that of brotherhood. A man said to another man: "You're my brother, and I offer myself to you... Be my companion, and together move forward, let's go on an adventure". Then in the infinite beyond time and space, two music notes similar unite, and a song of infinite beauty rises in the star thanks to the same halo that they share. The love of a man and a woman is the love of a knight for his lady. It is the courtly love of the exchange of a gift from one side to the other. The lady offered her courage, she gave to her knight her blessing then in the story he brought her the trophy and finally she offered her love. The love of a man for a man is the love of friends who go on an adventure; it is the love of a knight who goes to battle his friend by his side, the one who sacrifices himself on the battlefield to save the man he loves, his friend, his brother. I think about the warriors of the sacred battalion of Thebes, about Achilles and Patroclus, Alexander and Hephaistion, Gilgamesh and Enkidu. The love between men is the dance of two minds that rise, illuminating their path towards another even if different from the norm. A path of brotherhood and friendship that has sublimated its place and which goes alongside a path of unity of opposites. In this expression of love and desire the energy does not seek to complement its opposite, it seeks that which vibrates at the same frequency. The song of lovers through the ages Patriarchal societies, often sedentary societies, have often attempted to ban the union between men. In some cases, these practices were tolerated but over time it became increasingly rare. Yet there was a time long ago when those who fell in love with a man were welcomed and celebrated in their tribes. In nomadic societies, everyone had naturally the place that allowed him to express his most profound nature. They celebrated hunters and dreamers, the women were seen as holding their own wisdom and the men who love men were welcomed. It was then thought that they had the resources to be brave warriors. They expressed full male and female energies and it was believed they were equipped with a double mind, privileged link between the world of gods and men. In those early days we sang the powerful love of male friendship, the strong bond that united these special brothers. These legends have survived and became the legend of the relationship between Gilgamesh and Enkidu, the first legend written in the history of mankind. With time it was found in various forms as in Homer's epic poem with Achilles and Patroclus. Why had the tribes of the early ages understood something that history would attempt to ban? Perhaps because of the shamanic nature of those tribes. The shaman draws his wisdom from his observation of nature itself. And in nature wherever you look, the relationships between males are present, natural even if they are not the norm. Thus it was discovered that in many species of dolphins there were males who lived their entire lives in pairs, hunting together and demonstrating toward each other an extraordinary sensuality. Sometimes they choose a female to reproduce and in this case the two companions are courting, one aside to the other to reproduce, both male dolphins traveling together after the act. The real couples like the one described are found in many species: penguins, mammals... Not to mention the buffalo. Is that why for the Indian tribes it was not shocking to see a man fall in love with one of his comrades? Even in the nineteenth century, while Europe and America plunged into Puritanism, Native Americans continued to offer a special place for those who were described as "double spirit". |
