Vaginal irritation has been a common problem for women who suffer yeast infection. One of the examples is shown here based on a real case of a friend of mine. She has had a whitish discharge as well. She is treating with over the counter suppositories hoping it will work. She usually goes straight to her OB but her work schedule has not permitted lately. Her question is this: Tonight upon emerging from the shower she placed a mirror down south to view if there was any improvement before she started the suppositories and she noticed 2 white patches within the vagina upon the vaginal walls. It looks much like the "thrush" that her daughter had in her mouth when she was 2 months old. She tried to remove the spots with a sterile Q-tip that she moistened with water but they will not budge. She is scared naturally and she is wondering if anyone has experienced this with a yeast infection. She decided to start the suppositories anyway and wait and see what happens. She is sincerely hoping it is just a bad case of yeast that has created the patches and that it is not something else that may indicate her husband is cheating on her which she sincerely doubts. She has heard of the spots in the mouth but not the vagina. In case you have this problem, the answer is yes. You can get white spots in and around the vagina, and vulva area. I have had them before. I don't know what others will think, but I wouldn't beat up your husband just yet! |
