When you find that your love relationships are not the way you want them to be, it is time to start giving back to the universe to ensure that it has a reason to give back to you. 1) Why You Should Avoid the Media, If You Can If you stop today to look at your local newspaper, write down three main headlines that are on the front page. What do you see? Most of us will see three headlines that are filled with negative connotations; headlines that preach gloom and doom over anything else. For example, in March of 2007, there were headlines covering the papers about the return of cancer in both Elizabeth Edwards and Tony Snow, John Edward's wife and the Presidential spokesman. The papers were covered with the idea that 'the cancer has returned' and the cancer has spread.' Millions of people read those headlines and got the idea of cancer in their heads. While this does not seem to relate to love and relationships, it does. The media is constantly showing us pictures of things that go wrong. It talks about the latest celebrity divorce or the latest affair. All you see is images of love that is gone wrong, and you do not need that in your head when you are trying to attract a kind and gentle love. What you need is to avoid the media as much as you can when you are trying to increase your positive thinking. This is not about being out of touch, but rather creating your own reality in which good things will and do happen. 2) Visualizations Work Another advanced way to create the relationships that you want in your life - without any struggle - is to visualize them in your head. This is an exercise that goes beyond daydreaming and into the realms of changing your energy. When you think about something in your mind, you are changing the way that your mind interprets your reality. Your body will actually respond in the same way that it would if the event or fantasy were actually taking place. By practicing your visualization, you will allow your energy to be the same as if the things you dream were actually true. And visualization does not have to take a lot of time in order to work or be successful for you. You can simply close your eyes for a few minutes before you go to sleep each night, thinking of the person that you want to meet and that you want to date. Picture them in your mind as clearly as you can every night. 3) Why You Deserve to Be Happy In Your Life It would be interesting to find out who started the idea that we do not deserve to be happy in our lives. Too many of us really believe that we do not deserve to be happy or do not deserve to be in a loving relationship that actually works and creates peace in our lives. One of my friends, Joe, was one of these people. After a bitter divorce, he was frustrated at the world, wondering why things never went his way. But as time went on, he began to change his feelings into guilt about not trying harder with his wife. Maybe she was right, he thought to himself, maybe I am just not meant to be a good husband. That thinking causes Joe to be a very lonely man for a while. He would stay at home, watching TV, and feeling sorry for himself. Thankfully, Joe had a friend named Drew that came over one night and asked him why he was doing this to himself, why he was staying at home and being lonely. Drew shared with him this quote by an unknown author: You do not get what you deserve in life; you get what you settle for. Joe was settling for his consequences instead of taking charge of his life. But after that night, he never settled again. |
