Storytelling, Eisner, - Future Internet Directions - Are You Using Story-Based Selling?
Story-Based Selling based on Strategic-Storytelling has now come to the internet. According to Michael Eisner, the future of the internet is in storytelling. So read on to find out how to become part of the internet's future, today.

So what's the future direction of the internet? According to Michael Eisner, the former CEO of Disney, 'story-driven on-line content is what's next'.

Speaking at the recent Microsoft Advance '08 conference, Eisner said that the internet was currently missing out on the great opportunity to capitalize on the Internet's power of community. The missing element, he said, is "creative storytelling".

With his Disney background, I have to wonder if Eisner was thinking of storytelling, purely from an entertainment perspective. Or was he taking a multi-perspective view of storytelling as the "next big" move on the internet. Being the creative thinker that he is, I believe the later would be the case.

Eisner's comments should not be a surprise. Listen to any of the high-profile internet marketers speaking, and virtually every one of them, at some time in their talk, mentions the importance of using stories.

But oh, the questions!

Facts Tell; But Stories Sell -- might be very true; but then the questions start flooding to mind. What sort of stories do I tell? How do I integrate my stories into my web pages? Where else would I use stories? Do I just make my entire web site one long story? But if I do that, then how do I present the key features and benefits of my product/service? Is everyone going to like my stories? And on, and on.

And the answer is -- Strategic-Storytelling

No matter what part of the world you're in, I'm sure that you, like me, grew up on a diet of stories. And so everyone is able to relate to a story. Indeed, storytelling is the oldest, and yet still the most powerful form of communication on the planet.

And so to use any sort of story to communicate, is better than no story at all.

Better still however, is to use your stories in a strategic manner.

Strategic-storytelling has nothing to do with Harry Potter novels, writing great works of fiction, or just raving on about the latest event in your life.

What is Strategic-Storytelling

Strategic-Storytelling is about

* telling a specific story,

* at a specific time,

* to a specific audience,

* for a specific reason, and with

* a specific outcome in mind.

Strategic-Storytelling began to evolve in a really big way in the off-line corporate arena at the turn of the century. And its popularity is growing at an exponential rate. This has not happened in the world of internet marketing , YET!

Become Part of the Internet's Future Today

And so if ever there was a time to developing the skills of Story-Based Selling, using Strategic-Storytelling - that time is now.

Especially after Eisner's predictions of storytelling being the key to the future of the internet; the sooner you begin to integrate strategic-stories into all aspects of your internet marketing ; the longer you'll keep your competitive advantage.

Eisner is talking about storytelling as the current missing element, and the need to include it in future.

Yet you can be part of that Internet Future, TODAY!
