Traffic Exchange is a mean of advertising your website to other people who are also trying to advertise their website as well. What a traffic exchange program does is to place your website together with numerous other people websites in constant rotation to allow their users to surf and view these websites in exchange for credits to advertise their own site.

This method can be paid in terms of time or money. If you have the money, you can then buy credits to place your advertisement in the program for other people to view. If you do not have the money but you have time, you can then use your time to surf and view other people websites in exchange for credits for you to advertise your website

Personally, I do not use these program for the aim of making sales. I use this vehicle purely as a mean of traffic generation and list building purpose. I have never made a single sale directly from any of this program but I have used this method to build my list and eventually sell them my product successfully.

3) What are the good programs out there in the market?

My personal advice for those of you who are thinking of surfing for traffic is to join not more than 3 different traffic exchange programs as it is quite time consuming to surf for traffic. Do not spend all your time into this method of traffic generation because you need more than one method of traffic generation to be able to build a huge list.

Lastly, when you are looking for a traffic exchange programs to join, try to join those that have a larger number of subscribers because you can reach more people in this way. By the way, if you are not paid subscribers, there is a limit to the number of websites you can advertise depending on the policy set by different traffic exchange program.
