Ever wanted to know how to get started in making an income online? Here is practical experience-based advice for beginners in online marketing. Follow your dream but avoid the pitfalls, become richer as a consequence of your own actions, rather than making others rich at your expense. There are a myriad of schemes and wild ideas surrounding the "make money on the internet" mantra and a large proportion of these are there to make the promotor richer, not you.
How many times a day do we get assailed with "fantastic new online income system - look how much I have made using it". At least 10 a day could be conservative. What is it that these offers contain? All too often, a complex twist of an old theme, or are so complicated that one eventually gives up in despair. On the way to the give-up point there is commonly the requirement to purchase more of systems and tools to "go further along the path to real success". For many the outcome of following such a program is heartbreak, frustration, loss of money, and eventual rejection of an idea that could have had a better outcome, the death of a dream.
Experience has taught the author that the people who make the money promote to their mailing list, and so, if you want to make the same (similar) income as that of the "promoters", you need the same targeted quality mailing list as they do. Now that puts a stopper on the aspirations of a rather large proportion of hopeful online income seekers, and is probably a major reason as to why over 95% of starters in this industry fail or give up. So, Build a List. Lists are interesting items. The need to have a safe and targeted list is paramount. Safe? The only lists that you can call safe from claims of "spam" are double opt-in ones. Once to enter your list/newsletter/free offer, and once again to confirm their agreement to be a member of the list. Many autoresponder systems will offer only double opt-in entry systems for the list you are growing. OK, now you have a list entry sorted out, what next? The list is only as valuable as it is focussed or "targeted" to the subject you are offering. Hence, "buying a list" is often a complete waste of your hard-earned money. There are methods and techniques, including blogs, forums, joint venture, etc, to help in growing a list. Make sure your original content is targeted to your area of offer, and do provide good value and service. Finally, what do I promote? Two obvious options spring to mind - develop your own product, or, utilise affiliate marketing. Truth is, affiliate marketing has to win hands down for newbies. Why? Because you can target a market segment with developed goods and/or services, where most, if not all items are able to be delivered digitally - and we do live in a society culture with expectations of instant gratification. Don't give up, that online income is probably just around the corner and all you need to do is follow your growing list. Get rich quick? Well, maybe yes, maybe no, but you can get a better quality of life, real freedom and independence, and for those who want so much, and are prepared to work a bit harder, riches. |
