Making Money From The Internet

No longer do you have to be an I.T.whizz-kid to make money on the internet. Mum's can do it, students, can do it, people sick in bed can do it, even my 7 month old son has his own website!

Anyone can do it!

Before you run off and go and get your first million dollar website there are a few things you will need, so let's discuss that now.

1 An Idea

First, like any business you will need to sell something. You need a product or a service of some kind. Many people decide to sell things they like, but I have a warning here. You will make more money selling things that people want rather than selling what you like. However, hopefully what you like is also what people want! Secondly, I am a massive believer in selling in the niche markets. You will sell more products with a greater value if you can sell a specialist product that people want rather than a general product that you like.

For example a book called "How a 17 Year Old Student with only 10US$ can make money on-line" may sell more copies and at a higher value than "How to get rich"

So first of all find an idea that people want to buy. If possible become an expert in that niche market.

2 A Website

Next you will need a website. It is much better to use professional services in some instances rather than free services.

You will need to register a domain name. Try and get a domain name for each product if possible. The search engines like it. Using the above example a domain name such as how-students-can-make-money.com might be a good one.

You will need a server. There are lots of good ones around and some are very cheap. Make sure they have c-panel and a good support online chat room in case you need help.

You will also need to get an ftp program to help you upload all the information to your host. This can be tricky, but there are some really

good free ones on the web.

Now to actually make your websites , you will need a wysiwyg web program so that you can do the designing and of course you will need good graphics so a good graphics editing program is recommended.

If this is all too mind blowing for you, I recommend that you find someone who can do al of this for you. It is wonderful to be able to know how to do all this and the best way to learn is to actually do it, but you will make lots of mistakes and it could take ages. Personally I prefer to pay for someone to make it for me while I sit on the terrace sipping frozen margaritas or even actually doing some work to make money.

Making money on the internet can take a lot of skill and time. I seriously recommend that if you are going to do it yourself that you really study what you are doing first. The one great thing I did learn about doing it myself was that I was never going to do it myself again!

Way to time consuming.

Once you have all of the above elements, your party really begins. You are not even halfway. You will then need to consider search engines, traffic, viral marketing and lots of other internet trick and trade.

Don't be put off by all the technical side of it though. It sounds scary, but it can actually be done by most people with time. I taught myself how to do it over a period of about a month and then I got expert help. If I was going to do it again, I would get the expert help first.
