Lead Generating Systems - When You Should Invest

If you search the internet you'll see a lot about lead generating systems and systems claiming that they'll make you lots of money fast. I believe in lead generating systems and finding one that fits you is important. Not all systems are created equal and not all systems are one size fits all. If you're working at home and found the system you want to use the next question becomes when should you invest?

Immediately might be your first response because the creator of the system says it will quadruple your income in 2 hours and it's so easy that anyone can use it right.? So why not now?

I'll ask you to breathe first, put your credit card away, then sit back and evaluate your business, your use of time and your money. Let's get started.

Evaluating Your Business. Are you presently building your business mainly online or offline? Does the new system diverge from how you're primarily working your business or does it dovetail nicely into your present business model. All systems take time to learn, learn well and implement effectively. A lead generating system should compliment your business if you are sticking with your primary focus. If you've decided to venture into something new and more challenging, then an honest appraisal of your skill level, the system and the time you have available would be very prudent.

Use Of Time. Now you need to evaluate your time. Where in your schedule can you take the time to first learn a new system? Are there trainings available, do they have one on one coaching, are there others you could learn and work along with? Do the trainings fit into your schedule? How long does it take to get up and running? Everyone learns differently and everyone's time table to learn is also different. What could take days to learn for someone could only take hours for someone else. Then once you have the system mastered, how much time does it take to maintain and tweak when needed?

Money. The range of what a lead generating system costs varies as does what a system can do. This might go against what others say but here's my experience. You buy into and purchase a system when your business is in positive cash flow. Period. I know some will say that a system will get them the leads to make the sales to make them the money to pay for the system. Yes that might be true and all the stars and planets need to be aligned also. Don't get me wrong, systems work. We also need to work them. I do not advocate borrowing money e.g. credit cards, further earnings to pay for leads. That can turn into a downward spiral. I advocate making money talking with people e.i. free leads and saving up for the system. There are a multiple ways to work your business and earning money while putting forward little capital if any. Investigate those avenues before getting out your credit card.
