Is Working For Yourself the Answer to the Job Crisis?

This week's edition (March 14th -20th 2009) of The Economist focuses on the job crisis and on entrepreneurship. I was startled when I read that "An American who loses his job today has less of a chance of finding another one than at any time since records began half a century ago." (Italics are mine.) The editorial goes on the state that the "jobs crisis, alas, is unlikely to be short-lived... People will have to shift out of old occupations and into new ones."

If you are considering a "shift," internet marketing is an area that is wide open to creating a substantial regular income. If you don't know much about creating your own market from scratch there are affiliate programs where you don't even have to design a website, talk to customers, or buy software. Google Trends graphically shows that this online marketing is again on the rise after a dip last year. It's no wonder with the jobless rate at a record high.

Many, many people are worried about their job security even if they haven't lost their job...yet. Others who have already lost their jobs spend endless hours looking for a new placement when there is none to be found. The Economist poses entrepreneurism as a way to create jobs in this time of joblessness. Maybe you should, too. Anyone who is looking to find work in this time of financial crisis should take a look at the benefits of working at home to create a steady income with internet marketing.
