| Internet Marketing Tips - Researching - The Make Or Break |
|
Researching is the make or break of any business. A wrong choice could spell disaster. This article is the first of a multi part series on this topic.
This article is going to be the first in a series of articles on doing research. I don't care what kind of business you run and what kind of marketing you do. If your research is incomplete or faulty, the results that you will get as a result of that research are going to be less than stellar. The problem is, nobody really teaches you HOW to do research...at least nobody has since your days in school. So I hope you were paying attention then because those skills are going to come in handy if you expect to be a top notch Internet marketer. Why do I say make or break? Well, there are a number of decisions that you will make over the course of time that you market your products and services. Some of the decisions will be relatively minor ones, such as whether you should include this bonus with a product or that bonus. Other decisions will be more critical, such as what price to charge for your product. Every decision we make has consequences. If we don't do our research properly in order to make those decisions, the choice we ultimately make could turn into disaster. When I first started marketing online, I had to make many decisions. At the beginning, I did very little research, which turned out to be a mistake. So trust me when I say, I am speaking from experience. Today, whenever I have to make any decision at all, I make sure I fully research it. Naturally, some decisions are not so critical and may only take a few minutes to research. Others may take hours, days or even weeks. I don't know about you, but if I'm looking for a web host, that isn't something I'm going to take lightly. So how do you go about researching something? Well, that's what I'm going to be showing you with the rest of this series. I'm going to take specific examples and show you exactly how I would go about researching them to come up with the best possible decision. You will see that some will be relatively simple, as far as analysis, and others will take a lot more thought and will have to take into consideration many more factors. This is probably the one area of Internet marketing that drives most people crazy because they have no frame of reference for many of the things that come up. It is my hope that over the course of the next few articles that you'll get a good feel for what it takes to do research in order to make sure that the choice you make is the absolute best choice for you.
