| Internet Marketing Tips - Finding A Good Mentor |

Want to find a good mentor? Want the truth about mentoring? I suggest you read this article. It will be a real eye opener.
This has become a very heated discussion at one of my favorite forums of late. So I thought now would be a good time to touch on this topic. There are those who think that mentors are all a bunch of crooks and others who think that they are invaluable to improving your success as an Internet marketer. Is one right and one wrong? Can it be possible that both are right? This article is going to take a very hard and critical look at the field of mentoring. I am a mentor myself, so I may appear to be a bit biased. However, let me tell you about my own experience growing up in the world of Internet marketing. When I first started, I was clueless. And yes, while I did do most things on my own, my really big breakthroughs didn't come until I got some one on one help from a couple of really great guys who made all the difference in the world to me. So in my case, mentoring was the way to go and a made a big difference in my life. But that's not the way it is all the time. For one thing, some people who mentor others have no business doing so. They don't know anything worth teaching. What they do is they talk a good game and make themselves seem important. They're great sales people...but they're lousy teachers. The problem is, the person they are teaching usually doesn't know any better and so they think they're getting something for their money. However, there is an even bigger problem with mentoring. It's the mindset of most people who look for a mentor. See, many people will do this because they are looking for somebody to blame for their failure. This way they can say, well, I was mentored and I'm still broke. So it must be the fault of the mentor. It's so easy to blame somebody else for our failure. Of course like I said, sometimes the mentor stinks. So, how do you know? Simple...get references. Ask the mentor who he has trained. If he won't give you any names, most likely he's selling you a bill of goods. Research him online and see if there are any complaints against him. The bad seeds always pop out of the earth. Mentoring can be a great thing...if you find somebody you can trust. To YOUR Success, Steven Wagenheim |
