Are we in agreement that this is a fairly common occurrence? Great! But what does this have to do with internet marketing? Well, more than most people realize. Let me explain.

The world outside of IM, in many ways, is a lot different. The restaurant is one scenario where you actually get to try your product before you pay for it. Sure, in most cases, you do end up paying. But what if the meal was really horrible and you could show that it was, like by pointing out something in your soup that shouldn't have been there? Many restaurants will let your meal be on the house, especially the finer ones. This is their way of showing you that they care about you and want you to come back.

So, you're probably still asking, "What does this have to do with IM?" Well, the marketers who give value to the prospect, or customer, BEFORE they actually buy something are the ones who will make out the best. That's why you see the top merchants giving away free reports that could be ebooks by themselves. That's why you see blogs with more content than you'd find at your local library. That's why you hear about some marketers how they "over deliver" to the point of unbelievable proportions. These are the folks in this business who are making the big incomes.

Point is, if you want to make it to the next level, you need to stop thinking about what you can GET out of your prospect and start thinking about how much you can GIVE him. By doing this, you'll find that more customers will be asking you for the check.

And they'll be happy to pay it.
