| Internet Marketing Tips - Are You Living In Neverland? |
|
Are you living in Neverland when it comes to Internet marketing? If you're not sure, you might want to read this article.
Well, this is one of those articles that I write from time to time where I just go off on a rant. So if you don't want to hear me moan and complain about the unrealistic expectations of marketers, you might want to just bypass this tirade and move on to the next installment. However, if you REALLY want to know what it takes to make it online, you might want to read this. It's YOUR call. Peter Pan is dead and Neverland doesn't exist anymore. I'm not sure it ever existed. Heck, I'm not even sure Peter Pan ever existed. But still, Internet marketers live in this world of fantasy where they think all they have to do is turn on their computer, upload a web site and the money will come pouring in. News flash kiddies...it doesn't work that way. So In order that you understand what you're up against, I'm going to give you the missing piece to the puzzle as to why you're not getting the traffic you're looking for. It's your offer. Nobody gives a rat's behind about getting their cat litter box to smell nicer. People who are rabid buyers are looking for real solutions to real problems. I'm talking about the poor guy who can't quit smoking who's afraid he's not going to make it to his next birthday and is desperately seeking a stop smoking product that actually works. I'm talking about the overweight truck driver who's tipping the scale at 300 pounds and knows that any day he's going to keel over from a coronary and would sell his mother to Colonel Sanders for a diet that actually works. But finding a hungry market is only part of the problem. You also have to be able to communicate to them in a way that they feel you're really an authority on the subject. So many marketers have writing skills that border on the third grade that it's just plain sad. If you can't communicate with your target market in a professional way, what reason do they have to trust you? And I'm talking about everything from sales letters to autoresponders to articles. Almost everything you do in marketing comes down to communication in one form or another. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, not to mention that there is a lot of work involved. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. So forget about Peter Pan and forget about Neverland. They don't exist anymore...that's if they ever did. To YOUR Success, Steven Wagenheim |
