| Internet Marketers Mindset - Fear - Only A State Of Mind |
|
So, why do so many marketers fail? Mainly this is due to the lack of education and a solid marketing foundation. To my knowledge, the offerings available online where students are invited to study and learn all aspects of the affiliate marketing business are limited. Without proper training, and a solid foundation based upon current techniques and strategies I cannot see how anyone can succeed let alone survive for any length of time online.
I have been earning a living online since 2002 beginning with retail. In July 2007, my adventurous spirit led me to experiment within the affiliate marketing business, and I love it. Looking into the past, I was under the impression the sponsored listings (on the right hand side of the search results) were created and maintained by professional marketers. I felt the natural listings (on the left hand side of the search results) were created by professional website designers. Later, I realized many of these ads and websites have been created by beginner and intermediate marketers. Trying to compete online need not be worrisome as only 1-3 percent of websites and affiliate marketers are successful, and many advertisers are not professionals. If internet marketing were easy, everyone would be working it, and actually there would be too many websites to compete against. Yes, as marketers we do have some competition, and this is good, as it indicates whether a market is profitable or not. So, why do so many marketers fail? To my knowledge, the offerings available online where students are invited to study and learn all aspects of the affiliate marketing business are limited. Without proper training, and a solid foundation based upon current techniques and strategies I cannot see how anyone can succeed let alone survive for any length of time online. - Fear I believe fear of criticism and failure haunt most marketing students, preventing them from taking action. We have three factors to consider; Remember, you will be your own worst enemy if you allow indecision and doubt to manifest into fear. Just as well, you can become your own best friend by refusing to allow these emotions to enter and control your thoughts, consciously or sub-consciously thus affecting your actions. When you, as a marketer post an ad, readers will contact you to comment whether your ad my or may not be appealing to them. Upon submitting an article, nobody will criticize your writing in any way. You will realize which of your promotions are effective by tracking your success. You will learn how to track and test your campaigns later. In fact, if your content is valuable and well-written, you have a very good chance of your writing being published through websites, e zines and email marketing lists. This can create exposure, develop into long-term relationships, increase sales dramatically, and offer credibility to your name! Do not concern yourself as to what other marketers will think of your work. Do not compare your abilities with others or compete for levels of income. Allow others to research for you as you study them and learn from their experiences. The more you actually accomplish on a daily basis, such as developing your content and taking immediate action on your ideas, the better marketer you will become. Challenge yourself to complete one project every single day, whether it be writing and submitting an article, building a web page, a Squidoo Lens, a Hub Page, a Blog post, or creating a sponsored search campaign. You will earn more revenue from posting one project every day than spending two weeks editing and cutting your content and wondering if your work is "good enough" to publish. Begin somewhere and begin today. As time passes, you will progress past this stage of uncertainty and realize you have become a success! Do not allow fear to enter your mind at any time. Push those negative thoughts away and replace them with healthy, positive emotions. This will become second nature to you as time passes, trust me. Upon submitting your work, the worst scenario is the editors may not be able to approve your content until you have made minor revisions! Now, this does not have to be a daunting task. Edit your content, please the publishers and move on to your next idea! Failure is a vital and necessary step of the learning process. Certainly, all successful marketers have experienced failure at some point. When a campaign fails, we make the necessary adjustments and move on. Most of the highly successful marketers of today did not have the luxury of coaching and mentors. We do not have to go through the trials as those before us! Are you ready to replace fear with confidence? Would you like to learn the correct way to market products to real people? When this magic happens, the pleasure is more exciting than the money! |
