The biggest thing to remember with online advertising is that the average user is bombarded with sales pitches constantly every single day and they've learned to ignore them very well. Long-gone are the days of simply displaying some sort of "buy me now" message to users causing them to shell out their cash right then and there. Humans are emotional beings and writing pitches in this way appeals to feelings on a subconscious level and moves people to action.
The biggest thing to remember with online advertising is that the average user is bombarded with sales pitches constantly every single day and they've learned to ignore them very well. Think of how you react to ads you see online. Do you give every one of them your full attention or do you skim over most or not even notice them to begin with? Long-gone are the days of simply displaying some sort of "buy me now" message to users causing them to shell out their cash right then and there. Nowadays, you have to engage each user with useful information that they find relevant to something they've been looking for or a problem they need to get fixed. You have to take the time to create a lasting relationship with the customer. Once you can do that, you'll have a much better chance of selling your products and even offering related higher or back-end products to those same people in the future. Creating a great sales message in your ads really comes down to 5 steps. 1. Identify the problem - Show the potential customer that you understand the problem that they're dealing with.
2. Aggravate the problem - Let them see what will happen if they don't do anything about it.
3. Offer your solution - Explain your product and how it will solve their problem.
4. Provide proof your product works - Give testimonials and statistics showing how your solution really does work, while adding a satisfaction guarantee.
5. Ask for the sale - Question them directly to buy your product or service.
When you put these five elements together in every sales message you make, you'll greatly increase the chances of converting a casual customer into a paying client. Humans are emotional beings and writing pitches in this way appeals to feelings on a subconscious level and moves people to action. Remember these principles when creating any advertising and you'll be one step ahead of the game. |
