Since there is a mega-ton of information about making money online, I will make this article short and straight to the point. I have been marketing and making money online since 1993 and have gained a lot of experience and expertise in this area.

The Internet is flooded with "make money offers" which that can end up costing you a small fortune since every offer is usually well packaged with promises of wealth and excitement. There is the good, the bad and the ugly in all online business opportunities. Your job is to be able to discern between good and evil!

You should make it a point to "investigate" each and every business opportunity before you part with your money. You can accomplish this by checking posts on several key anti- scam forums. Next, you should Google the business opportunity followed by the word "scam" to learn what other people are saying. If most of the information is negative, you can rest assured that you will waste your money. This can take 15 minutes max, less when you get really good at it.

Don't go just by the "sales page" because they are primarily designed to sell you into their program, product or service. You need to do your own independent background checking. If you follow my suggestion, you will be surprised how much money and effort you will save. Believe, this is common sense to do but it is not common practice.

If you're new to internet marketing and making money online, you're probably wondering about what to sell, which programs to join and whom to believe: the snake oil guy, the shovel peddler or the expert. These are all valid concerns. So here are some basic suggestions:

First, I recommend that you focus your efforts on two-tiered affiliate marketing. That's when you make commissions off the sales of people you recruit into the program. I know someone who has made over $2,000,000 dollars in 2007 through this process!

For example, you can make a commission of 25% on a product that you sell and 10% commission from the sale of a person you recruited "under" you. The more second-tier affiliates you recruit, the more money you can make, assuming those sub-affiliates are actively promoting the product. In order for them to stay actively involved in selling, the product or service must be useful, salable and exciting to you, to its target market and to your sub-affiliates.

Second. Join opportunities that produce cash by leveraging your efforts through other people. For example, find a reputable company that pays commissions from the monthly payment or sales generated by other people, several levels deep. Yes, I am referring to network marketing companies. Knowing which ones to join is key.

Third. It's important to know what people need and want when they come online and where they are willing to go in order to satisfy their needs. People don't come online daily to "spend" money. Do you?

Most people online want to:

1) Obtain free information, like what you 're doing right now

2) Find entertainment, read emails or socialize

3) Find bargains, freebies and cheap deals

You can make money with 1), 2) and 3) by satisfying their needs after you've put a system into place to drive targeted traffic to your sites or programs. Without a traffic-generation system, you can become another wishful entrepreneur in cyberspace. You will be caught on the "web of despair", always striving to make money and seeing very poor results in the process.
