Dont Be Fooled by Limited Time Offers

How many times have you seen a web page advertising a "limited time offer" only to go back after it should have expired and you see the same offer with a new date? Do you feel like you have been taken advantage of?

Sometimes the ad will say you will pay a certain price if you buy before midnight on that particular day, or they are greatly discounting what they believe their ebook or product is really worth so you need to act now or you will likely have to pay much more later.

I have seen this strategy used a lot on the internet, particularly with ebooks.

This plays on people's emotions and on fear of loss. While it can be and often is an effective marketing strategy, it really doesn't seem very ethical to me.

A person may feel pressured to purchase something they might not if they really take the time to think about it. There is a lot to be said for careful consideration and not acting impulsively.

If you wait a day or two and the offer still appeals to you, then it is likely you will be glad you made that purchase. Things that are bought on impulse often don't live up to their expectations , or they don't get used as they should.

There may be exceptions but I believe if something is good today it will be good tomorrow or a week later. I've learned from my past experience that an ebook or something else I thought I couldn't live without wasn't something I really did need after all.

So remember that not all ads that claim to be time sensitive offers really are what they have stated.
