A Recollection of Fundamentals

It was my first day of the rest of my Internet Driven Life, and I had a great startup idea which could make me the next Internet Millionaire. Having read over a hundred Landing pages and having browsed over a thousand products being sold over the net, I began wondering if this was the path I wanted to take.

Some say you get quick money, some say you waste money, but I thought ill surely make it big because my idea is huge, my idea is brilliant, my idea is UNIQUE. Apologies for being a bit pessimistic, but, almost all grand ideas that general human minds think of, have been implemented already. Some ideas become popular, some fail. Those that become popular, get cloned and remade with some new touches. It's a tough web out there, with all the technology inflow and millions of minds working on making it a better place.

I needed to make my mark, so I stopped thinking, and put my idea on the table, created the site, publicized it, and after a month of hard work, gave up. Because, I had started to realize that my idea was being implemented by hundreds of other site that had gained popularity over time and were indexed in Google for ages with thousands of Backlinks and mind blowing Page Ranks. So, that blew me out of proportions and I had to rethink my strategy. As the fact lies out there, its easy for me to say that success is not about just reinventing the wheel, its about publicizing the reinvention and SEO ing it up.
